The candidate must have the relavant experience and qualifications for working on large commercial vehicles as a Panel Beater. The position will be on a temporary to permanant basis, with 8 weeks with tha Agency then, depending on you meeting the standards of the Company, becoming permamant with the Company.
Duties and Tasks That May Be Required:
a. Remove damaged panels and components by unbolting or cutting them away.
b. Remove dents by hammering panels with panel beating tools such as a special hammer called a planishing hammer.
c. Straighten badly dammaged vehicles using machanical and hydraulic equipment to obtain door, boot and bonnet clearence.
d. Cut and join replacement sections or dammaged panels using oxyacetylene and electrical welding equipment.
e. Fill dents with plastic fillers, and file, grind and sand repaired surfaces using power and hand tools.
f. Fit and repair panels on the framework of the vehicle and refit body hardware such as door locks and door trims.
g. Replace badly damaged sections with new or second-hand panels.
h. Realign chassis and body frames, and use chassis alignment machines and measuring systems.
i. Remove and replace acciodent-related machanical items.
j. Remove and replace auto-electric components.
k. Help vehicle body building to build custom-designed, speciality or vintage vehicles.
l. Assist in spray painting vehicles.
Personal Requirements:
a. Enjoy practical and manual work.
b. Able to work with hand tools and machines.
c. Good hand-eye coordination.
d. Able to visualise the end product.
e. Good colour vision.
